The recent attempts to con social security disability recipients into sharing their social security numbers and other personal information described in this article are unfortunately just a minor twist on an all-too-common scam. Whether they are calling about alleged problems with our credit cards or income taxes, sending us emails about Saudi princes and lottery winnings, or stopping by to discuss our security concerns, we should all heed the advice we gave to our children: Beware of strangers.
